In Castétis, near Orthez, the Candau watermill is a water mill dating back to the 16th century which was in operation milling wheat up until 1958. Now it has been completely restored and is back in service.
Alain Forsans the owner will welcome him to his house and as the miller will give you a demonstration of how the mill grinds. How a watermill makes flower will no longer be a secret as far as you're concerned! Don't miss its museum devoted to millers' tools.
