And yet, the open-air environment is essential to the well-being of both animals and farmers.
4:30pm: Comedy play "Why chickens prefer battery cages". Ages 12 and up. But why do chickens feel the need to stick together, in conditions that seem so unenviable? In this talk, Professor Rouger, director of the School of Mobile Agriculture, discusses the rights of the hen and the living conditions of the egg.
